Snackability’s First 6 Months: Measuring Real Impact in Inclusive Employment
Six months ago, Snackability placed its first vending machine with a clear purpose: turn everyday snack and drink service into meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. What began as a single machine has already delivered measurable social outcomes, hands-on skill building, and a proven model that other businesses can join.
Here is a transparent look at the data from our first half-year of operations, what it means for the students we employ, and why partnering with us creates a genuine win-win for companies that want both reliable vending and community impact.
From One Machine to Proven Results
Snackability has successfully operated one vending machine for six full months with consistent weekly student-led restocking and cleaning. Students handle the day-to-day work of inventory, restocking, cleaning, and basic machine maintenance. The reliability of that weekly service allowed us to purchase and place a second machine, expanding our footprint and the number of roles available.
The core social outcome metrics from these first six months are straightforward and powerful:
Approximately 96 hours of meaningful work experience provided
3–5 students engaged weekly in hands-on roles
Practical training in business operations, personal responsibility, and teamwork
These are not abstract volunteer hours. They represent structured, paid or supported employment experiences that build real workplace skills. Students learn inventory management, customer-facing reliability, time management, and collaboration—skills that transfer far beyond the vending machine.
Research consistently shows that inclusive employment improves more than just finances. Jobs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities boost mental health, strengthen social connections, and raise overall quality of life. Every weekly restocking shift is a step toward greater independence and inclusion.
Looking Ahead: Scaling Impact in the Next 12 Months
With two machines now in operation and a proven weekly model, we project significant growth over the coming year:
312–520 hours of student work experience
6–10 students engaged in weekly hands-on roles
Doubled capacity to support skill development and greater inclusion
These projections are grounded in the same consistent operational approach that delivered 96 hours in the first six months. As more machines are placed, the number of students who can participate grows, and the depth of training expands. Our model emphasizes customized employment strategies—matching roles to each person’s strengths and providing the accommodations needed for success.
Why Businesses Partner With Snackability
Every machine placement delivers two clear benefits at once: vital employment options for people with disabilities and a free, professionally managed vending service for employees.
We offer flexibility in service types—traditional vending machines, coffee kiosks, AI coolers, and lunch options—so locations can choose what fits their space and workforce best. Snackability handles recruitment, training, ongoing support, and weekly servicing. Businesses do not take on extra management burden. We purchase, place, and run the machines.
In addition, companies that hire through our program may qualify for the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC). This federal incentive can provide employers up to $2,400 per qualifying employee in the first year for hiring individuals from targeted groups, including those with disabilities or referred through vocational rehabilitation programs. The combination of free vending service, reduced federal tax liability, and contribution to community inclusion makes the partnership both socially meaningful and financially smart.
A Simple, Low-Risk Way to Create Inclusion
Many organizations want to support inclusive employment but struggle with how to start. Snackability removes the barriers. We bring the trained workforce, the equipment, the ongoing support, and the operational reliability. Your location gains consistent snack and drink service while directly expanding employment opportunities for students and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The data from our first six months shows the model works. One machine produced nearly 100 hours of meaningful work experience and steady weekly engagement for multiple students. Two machines will accelerate that impact. Additional placements will multiply it further.
